We understand it is critical to ask certain questions of your roofing contractor to make sure they are qualified and the right fit for your roofing needs. Here are some of the most common questions we receive here at TraVek Roofing:

How long has TraVek, Inc. been in business?

TraVek, Inc. has been in business since 2001, but had its start in roofing under another well-known name already in 1984.

Is the roofing company licensed, bonded, and insured in Arizona?

Yes

What types of roofing materials does the company offer?

It depends on the type of roof. This is a great question to ask your roofing professional when s/he comes to your home, because they will be able to speak to this as it pertains to your roof. Ask them about the pros and cons of each, too.

How long will the roofing project take?

This, too, is a great question to ask your roofing professional on their first visit.

What is the warranty offered on the roofing materials and workmanship?

TraVek Roofing offers 2, 5, 10, and 15-year warranties, depending on the products used.

Can the roofing company provide references from previous customers?

Yes, references are available upon request.

Will the roofing company obtain the necessary permits for the roofing project?

In most cases, permits are not required for roofing unless you are changing the roof type and you are in an HOA. In those cases, yes, we will obtain the necessary permits.

Will the roofing company remove the old roofing materials and clean up the site after the project is completed?

There are times when we roof over an existing roof, and times when we scrape it clear, depending on the condition of the roof and the number of layers. Either way, yes, we clean up and remove all roofing debris.

What is the cost estimate for the roofing project, and what is included in that estimate?

The cost will vary depending on the type of roof, size of roof and type of product being used. Your roofing professional will be able to give you an in-home estimate that fits your home.

What is an underlayment?

This is roofing material that is under your tile or shingle. Your underlayment is what actually keeps your roof from leaking as well as provides an additional layer of barrier against the sun and heat. It is very important that it is installed properly because there are times when water will go under your tile and, if the underlayment has any voids in it, your roof will leak. See this page to read more about tile roof underlayments.

How often does an underlayment last?

The underlayment for a tile roof should last 15-20 years. We recommend having your roof assessed at the 15-year mark.

How long does a foam roof last?

A foam roof can last a lifetime with proper maintenance.

How often should a foam roof be recoated?

To protect the foam from deteriorating under the heat of the sun, a foam roof should be re-coated with an elastomeric coating every 5-7 years.

How do roofs handle the Arizona heat?

Our Arizona sun is your roof’s worst enemy. Its intense heat and ultraviolet rays cause any roof to dry out and deteriorate over time. Foam roofs need maintenance coating every 5 to 7 years to keep them protected from the sun. Shingle and tile roofs need proper ventilation to cut down on the heat build-up in the attic and prolong the life of the roofing material.

Why switch to a Foam Roofing System?

A foam roof is the only roofing system that will actually pay for itself in utility and energy usage over time. Because of its insulating factors and the fact that it moves the thermal barrier from the top of your drywall (ceiling) to the roof, if properly installed and maintained, it provides up to 25% in energy savings on both electric bills as well as air conditioning unit usage.

It is good to ask these questions to make sure TraVek Roofing is qualified, experienced, and reliable, and that our services fit within your budget and timeline. We are here to help you with your roofing needs not just today, but for a lifetime.
